This Privacy Policy explains how MorningBrief (the "Service"), operated by SoftwareMice LLC, handles information. The Service is intentionally minimal: it has no user accounts, no login, and no database of users.
We do not require you to create an account and we do not ask for, or store, personal information such as your name or contact details in order to use the dashboard. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your watchlist of ticker symbols and display preferences (such as light/dark theme) are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data stays on your device, is not transmitted to us for storage, and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data.
When you open a data section, your browser requests data from our server, which in turn queries third-party providers. To return results, the tickers in your watchlist and standard request metadata (such as your IP address, sent automatically by your browser) may be processed by these providers and our hosting platform. Providers include Finnhub and Twelve Data (market data), Google Gemini (AI news summaries), and Vercel (hosting and server logs). Each operates under its own privacy policy.
If you have been added to the morning brief email distribution list, your email address is stored in our server configuration solely to deliver that email, which is sent via Resend. We do not use your address for marketing. To be removed, contact us at the address below.
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
